Fondazione Terra Humana ETS is a non-profit foundation based in Sardinia, Italy. It pursues a regenerative future where humans and nature coexist in harmony. The foundation connects ecological action with cultural, social, and individual renewal: uniting ecological restoration, rehumanization, and the sacred stewardship of life into one holistic vision.

Our headquarters are in Jerzu (NU), Sardinia, Italy. We are officially registered in the Italian national register of non-profit organizations (RUNTS) under number 148467, recognized as a legal entity since 18 February 2025. Our Codice Fiscale is 91017930917.

"Ente del Terzo Settore" is the legally recognized status for Italian non-profit organizations: comparable to a charitable foundation in other countries. It means we operate exclusively for public benefit, without profit distribution, under the oversight of the Italian Third Sector Code (D.Lgs. 117/2017).

Primarily through donations, supporting contributions, and project-related assistance. The foundation does not pursue any commercial profit. In Italy, donors can also support us through the 5 per mille mechanism (see our dedicated page) at zero additional cost.

No. We are non-denominational, politically independent, and open in worldview. Our focus lies on ethical responsibility, planetary regeneration, and the universal values of life. We welcome people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions.

We operate on the ground in Sardinia and are networked throughout Europe and internationally. Our projects aim to create globally replicable regenerative models applicable in diverse climatic, cultural, and social contexts.

Our integrative vision: we unite ecological restoration, human development, cultural heritage, and ethical entrepreneurship into one holistic approach: without separating humanity, nature, or society. Where most initiatives focus on one dimension (ecology OR social OR culture), we address all simultaneously.

It reflects our vision of a world in which Earth (Terra) and humanity (Humana) live in symbiosis. We aim for a future in which humans act as guardians, not exploiters, of the Earth, and in which ecological and human flourishing are understood as one and the same journey.

Our mission is built on four key principles: (1) Rehumanization: empowering people to become sovereign, self-responsible human beings; (2) Ecological Restoration: restoring healthy, regenerative ecosystems through permaculture and food forest systems; (3) Stewardship, caring and responsible management of land and life for future generations; (4) Creatorship, supporting ethical economy, art, and creative innovation as expressions of regenerative culture.

TerraWiki is our curated knowledge base at terrahumana.ngo/knowledge. It explains the key concepts behind our work (ecological restoration, syntropic agriculture, permaculture, rehumanization and more), in plain language, in English, German and Italian. It is not an open wiki: every entry is written and reviewed by the foundation, with sources. Throughout the website, terms from TerraWiki appear as clickable words with short explanations.

For us, stewardship means seeing land and resources not as property to exploit, but as a living legacy to protect and regenerate for future generations. In practice: long-term land agreements, ecological building, community cultivation, and training "guardians" who care for specific ecosystems or cultural sites.

While classical environmentalism often seeks to preserve the status quo or prevent damage, we focus on active regeneration: restoring nature's original vitality through agroforestry, syntrophic farming, and food forest systems that simultaneously heal ecosystems and nourish communities.

Yes, you can exercise your right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) by contacting info@terrahumana.ngo. Exceptions apply where legal obligations (e.g. Italian fiscal law requires donation records for 10 years) mandate retention.

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption, Cloudflare DDoS protection, restricted data access controls, and data minimisation principles. Our website does not store sensitive payment data: all transactions are processed exclusively by PayPal or Wise.

Our contact form is processed within the EU (n8n on our German Hetzner VPS). Some services involve non-EU transfers, e.g. email delivery via Resend (USA) and PayPal donations (USA): all protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. Only technically necessary cookies (for consent management) are set by default. Our Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement runs in Consent Mode: without your consent, NO cookies are set and only anonymous, cookieless signals are processed. Yes. We never store card or bank data ourselves. All payment transactions are processed exclusively by PayPal and Wise: each fully PCI-DSS compliant and GDPR-compliant. We only receive confirmation of a successful donation, not your payment details.

No. Our website is fully open: donations, newsletter subscriptions, and contact forms all work without any registration or account creation. We keep it simple and privacy-respecting.

Yes. We do not knowingly collect data from minors under 16 without explicit parental or guardian consent (Art. 8 GDPR). If you believe a minor's data has been submitted without consent, please contact us immediately at info@terrahumana.ngo.

The foundation is guided by a Board of Directors. Day-to-day operations are carried out by our executive team: President, Vice President, and, if appointed, a Director General (CEO). After stepping down from the Board, the founders will serve in an advisory role as "Grail Keepers" to uphold the founding vision. All strategic decisions are made transparently through our participatory governance structure.

Our General Assembly (composed of representatives from the Presidium, Board of Directors, Senate, and membership), ensures participatory and strategic decision-making. It reflects our commitment to governance by consensus and shared responsibility rather than top-down authority.

Yes! We offer several forms of membership: Contributing Members (regular financial supporters), Supporting Members (contributors of skills, time, or in-kind gifts), and Associated Members (non-voting community participants). Strategic decisions are made by the Round Table and Board of Directors. Proposals are reviewed by expert bodies for impact, feasibility, and alignment with the four pillars. The founding members ensure all projects remain true to the foundation’s mission and values.

Absolutely! Through our TerraReach project submission (terrahumana.ngo/submit-project) you can propose initiatives in ecological restoration, regenerative agriculture, education or community. Submitting takes about ten minutes, every proposal is read by humans and reviewed against our Statute and Code of Ethics, and every submission receives an answer.

Every cooperation inquiry goes through an ethical suitability review by the Board of Directors before any partnership becomes public. The yardstick is our Code of Ethics: organisations that violate human rights, environmental standards or social justice are excluded: we assess conduct and contribution, not creed. The return. If you simply want to give, with nothing expected in return, a donation is the most direct path. If your organisation or company seeks visibility, joint projects or a lasting collaboration, start a cooperation inquiry (terrahumana.ngo/partnership): it will be ethically reviewed and sealed in a clear agreement.

Sardinia is our birthplace and our laboratory. The island is extraordinarily rich in biodiversity, ancient culture, and ancestral wisdom: one of the world's Blue Zones for longevity. Its climate is ideal for regenerative models such as Mediterranean food forests, its isolation has preserved remarkable genetic and cultural heritage, and its challenges (rural depopulation, land abandonment) make it a perfect testing ground for models that need to work in the real world.

No. Sardinia is our starting point and our proof of concept, but our models are designed to be scalable and globally replicable. We network internationally and aspire to plant seeds of regeneration wherever aligned communities invite us.

Through partnerships with local artisans, farmers, associations, schools, and cultural custodians. We promote local value chains and cultural exchange: our goal is to strengthen, not replace, existing communities. Every project is developed in dialogue with local stakeholders.

Key initiatives include: (1) Project Eden: a long-term regenerative food forest and permaculture research station on around 1.7 ha of ancient olive grove in Jerzu; (2) Terra Cultura: our cinematic healing-arts project uniting film, music and cultural work; (3) Educational programs in regenerative culture, energy, and health. More projects are in development.

The large majority of every donation goes directly to our non-profit mission: ecological regeneration, social agriculture, education, and project development. Around 15% typically supports administration and structure: the people and processes (bookkeeping, governance, accountability) that make this work possible and lasting. We disclose the exact figure each year in our annual report.

Many ways: you can volunteer your skills or time on site, become a member, contribute in-kind resources, share our work with your network, or join one of our educational programs. Even without financial donation, your engagement matters enormously. Just write to us.

Through long-term ecological planning, regenerative practices (permaculture, agroforestry, soil restoration), legal land stewardship secured through foundation ownership or long-term agreements, and community governance that distributes responsibility across many hands. We build for decades, not quarters.

We look for three things: professional competence, ethical alignment with our four pillars, and a high potential for positive impact. Partnerships emerge from shared values and mutual respect, not primarily from commercial interest or convenience.

Project Eden is a long-term regeneration and research initiative in Sardinia, led by Terra Humana Foundation. It unites ecosystem restoration, permaculture design, food forest development, education, tropical-Mediterranean plant research, and cultural innovation in one living system.

Key focus areas include: Mediterranean food forest development on ancient olive land; soil regeneration and reforestation using syntrophic methods; research on tropical and medicinal plants; founding a Permaculture Academy; ecological building and renewable energy systems; media production (podcasts, documentaries); and the creation of community spaces and cultural programming. It is a fully non-profit initiative under foundation governance.

It designates Terra Humana as an officially recognized Third Sector Entity in Italy: subject to strict governance and reporting requirements, and eligible for tax-advantaged donations. Italian donors can deduct up to 30% of their total income (max. €30, 000/year) under Art. 83 D.Lgs. 117/2017.

Italian donors: yes, directly via Art. 83 ETS rules. German, Austrian, and Swiss donors: deductibility depends on bilateral tax agreements and national regulations. We recommend consulting your local tax advisor. We always issue a donation receipt on request (info@terrahumana.ngo).

For Italian taxpayers, the Codice Fiscale is the tax ID that allows us to report the donation to the Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate) for automatic tax deduction processing. International donors can simply skip this field or enter their national tax ID if they wish to receive documentation.

We accept: PayPal donations and traditional bank transfers (Wise international: IBAN BE46905306164036; Intesa Sanpaolo Italy: IBAN IT51I0306909606100000414771). All methods are secure and GDPR-compliant.

Yes. All payments go through trusted, PCI-DSS and GDPR-compliant providers (PayPal, Wise). We never store card or bank data ourselves. You will always receive a transaction confirmation from the payment provider.

Yes. PayPal donations receive an official donation receipt (ricevuta, per Art. 83 D.Lgs. 117/2017) automatically by email right after the donation. For bank transfers, contact info@terrahumana.ngo and we will issue your receipt. Italian donors: we can report directly to the Agenzia delle Entrate with your Codice Fiscale.

Yes! If you are an Italian taxpayer (IRPEF), you can allocate 0.5% of your income tax to Terra Humana Foundation ETS: at absolutely no additional cost to you. This share would otherwise go to the state. In your tax return (Modello 730 or Modello Redditi), simply write our Codice Fiscale: 91017930917 in the dedicated section for "Enti del Terzo Settore".

Your 5 per mille supports: ecological education programs, land restoration and reforestation (Project Eden), public interest research on permaculture and medicinal plants, and our long-term projects for a regenerative future. Visit our dedicated 5 per mille page for step-by-step instructions.

Around 15% of our spending typically goes to administration and structure: bookkeeping, governance and accountability that make our project work possible and lasting; the large majority goes directly to the projects. We disclose this share transparently and publish our annual reports as required by Italian ETS law (Art. 13 D.Lgs. 117/2017). A modest, openly disclosed overhead is the mark of a healthy, accountable foundation.

Under Italian ETS law (D.Lgs. 117/2017), a non-profit foundation cannot be sold for private gain. In the event of dissolution, all assets must be transferred to another non-profit organization or the Italian Third Sector Fund (Fondazione Italia Sociale). The foundation's mission is legally protected in perpetuity.
